Laxman Meena: Former IPS Officer Turned Politician
Discover the journey of Laxman Meena, a former IPS officer who transitioned into a political leader, serving as the MLA of Bassi in Rajasthan.

Laxman Meena, the dedicated INC representative and candidate for the Bassi(57) constituency in the upcoming assembly election, is known for his active involvement. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics and had a previous career as an IPS officer in Rajasthan. However, he retired early to pursue politics.

While he initially contested elections with the INC party in 2009 and 2013 without success, he later ran independently and defeated the BJP candidate, Anju Devi Dhanka, in the last election to represent Bassi(57). In the upcoming Assembly election, he is once again representing the INC party.

Laxman Meena is recognized for his dedication and has asked a total of 69 questions. He actively addresses critical issues such as those related to the forest and environment in his constituency. Two notable questions he has raised include:
Forest: He inquired about the number of saw machines operating legally and illegally in the Bassi(57) legislative assembly area.
Environment: Meena sought confirmation from the Environment Minister regarding the installation of a large stone crusher approximately 30 meters away from State Highway number 24, Basi-Bhadoti, in the village of Garh within the Bassi(57) legislative assembly area. He also inquired whether the government is considering relocating it to a distance of 100-150 meters from the State Highway and, if so, when. If not, he wanted to know the reasons behind this decision.
