Currently, he serves as the MLA for Bikaner West and is the Minister for Education (primary and secondary), Sanskrit education, arts, literature, culture, and ASI in the Rajasthan government.

Meet Bulaki Das Kalla, a dedicated leader serving Bikaner West, your representative, and the current MLA from this constituency. He brings a rich academic background to his role, holding a Ph.D., LLB, MA in Economics, and a B.Sc. degree. Back in 2018, Bulaki Das Kalla won a challenging contest against BJP candidate Gopal Krishn, securing his seat for Bikaner West in Rajasthan's government. During his term, Kalla has been notably active in legislative discussions, having participated in 274 questions. His educational qualifications and legislative experience mark him as a significant figure in his constituency.

Two of the questions he asked were as follows:
Revisiting the Bill: He inquired, 'Mr. Speaker, with your permission, I move that the Rajasthan Advocates Welfare Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2020, be taken up for reconsideration.
Reflections on the Bill: Bulaki Das Kalla also sought information, asking, 'Hon'ble Chairman Sir, in order to ensure that essential commodities are available to the general public at the right price, the Essential Commodities Act was enacted in 1955. It specifically inserted this provision to regulate and prohibit the production, distribution, supply, commerce, and trade of food and other essential commodities. In Section 3, it was laid down that if any person engages in hoarding or profiteering, the Central Government can fix his stock limit and restrict him, stating that one cannot keep any commodity in stock beyond a specified quantity.
