The desert is closer than you think!

You don't need a long weekend to feel the pull of Rajasthan's wild, wide-open spaces. Within 90 minutes of Jaipur, walk the bone-white salt flats of Sambhar Lake as flamingos wade in the shallows. It's India's largest inland saltwater lake a vast, shallow basin that stretches nearly 230 sq km and has been producing salt for over a thousand years. Watching it crawl across a white horizon is quietly cinematic.
