What begins as an extremely rooted tradition tied to Goddess Gauri eventually evolves into a celebration that is both ceremonial and performative in nature.The Mewar Festival is celebrated over a span of two to three days, and the festivities build up to the main procession and lakeside ceremonies that are its defining feature. The Mewar Festival in 2026 is scheduled to be celebrated from 21 March to 23 March this year.
